Calgary-based IntelliView Technologies Inc. is proud to announce that the fall prevention application known as SmrtBed has been selected as a finalist for the Manning Innovation Awards.
Billions of dollars are spent treating falls each year across Canada and the costs are expected to rise as the Baby Boomer population continues to age. Slip and fall injuries are a leading cause of injury amongst the senior population. One hip fracture is estimated to cost as much as $28,000 in direct health costs. In addition, there is also a declining trend in health care professionals. Hence, technology-based solutions are required such as IntelliView’s Bed Exit alarm that notifies health care workers when an at-risk patient has left the bed.
IntelliView has been chosen as a finalist for their SmrtBED solution for the Manning Innovation Awards – Canada’s premier technology awards. Join IntelliView at the event to learn more about how a SmrtBed will help prevent falls in healthcare. Learn how this University of Calgary concept became commercialized through a partnership with the innovative Ward of the 21st Century (W21C) at the Foothills Hospital.
