IntelliView invited to present pipeline security white paper at International Pipeline Conference

IntelliView Technologies Inc. president, Dr. Wael Badawy will be presenting a white paper discussing how the company’s smart video surveillance solution can assist pipeline operators with business continuity during the International Pipeline Conference. This global event is hosted in Calgary every second year where hundreds of pipeline sector delegates will gather at the Hyatt Regency in Calgary, Alberta September 27, to October 1, 2010 .

The Canadian pipeline sector operates infrastructure that spans across hundreds of thousands of miles through some of the world’s harshest terrain. The environmental as well as the security and the safety risks associated with pipelines have been changing the operational landscape. Recently, in Canada the Canadian Standards Association launched a new security standard setting a North American first. The IntelliView solution will assist operators with meeting the requirements of this new standard by automating ongoing monitoring and integrating the solution into emergency response programs.

In addition, the solution has been paired with thermal cameras, tested and piloted with a major pipeline operator to detect up to five different types of pipeline leaks. “The solution can detect if a small leak has occurred whether it is a dripping leak or spraying leak and send email notifications to authorized personnel for environmental response. This will significantly reduce the emergency response time as well as the environmental cost associated with pipeline incidents,” says Badawy.

Badawy will present the paper during the International Pipeline Conference in Technical Track 13: Risk and Reliability(download invitation).

Both IntelliView and Spartan Controls will provide live demonstrations of the solution during the corresponding International Pipeline Exposition September 28-30 at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre at the IntelliView Technologies Inc. Booth 123 (download invitation).
